Our Story
From Bangalore, With Love
Sovi Designs began in our living room in Bangalore, with a simple question: why is it so hard to find ethnic wear that feels like you?
We're Vikram and Priya — husband and wife, tech professional and fashion designer. We watched friends and family struggle with the same problem over and over: beautiful outfits that didn't fit quite right, or perfectly fitted pieces that didn't feel special.
In 2023, we decided to do something about it. Priya brought her years of design experience, and I brought a passion for building systems that work. Together, we created Sovi — named after the Sanskrit word "Sovajnya," meaning one who knows the self.
What started as designing for friends quickly grew into something bigger. Women from across India, and later from the Indian diaspora in Canada, found us. Each one with a different body, a different occasion, a different dream for how she wanted to feel.
Today, Sovi Designs serves women in India and Canada, creating both custom designs and a curated catalog of pieces that can be personalized. Every order — whether it's a lehenga for a Toronto sangeet or a kurta set for a Diwali puja in Bangalore — gets the same attention. The same care. The same promise.
